Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose baking mix (such as Jiffy)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 450ยบ

Step 2:
Combine all ingredients for shortcakes (baking mix through heavy whipping cream). On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/2 inch. Using a 2-inch cutter, cut out shortcakes.

Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 10 minutes until lightly browned. Do not overcook.

For Whipped Cream, chill a medium metal bowl and beaters. When chilled, pour cold heavy cream into bowl and beat until almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until cream holds peaks.

Serve Shortcakes with fresh Georgia strawberries (sweetened if necessary) and fresh Whipped Cream. Makes 12 to 13.
