Apple Sausage Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion or green onions
  • 1 pound hot sausage
  • 3 cups cubed French bread
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped Georgia apples
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Step 1:

    Melt butter in a large skillet and sauté onions, and place in a large bowl.

  • Step 2:

    Cook sausage until done, drain and place in bowl with onions. Then add bread, egg, and apples.

  • Step 3:

    Place mixture in an 8 x 8 inch casserole dish, and pour chicken broth over dressing.

  • Step 4:

    Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
