Georgia Strawberry Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced fresh Georgia strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar

Directions

  • Step 1:

    Place strawberries in an 8 x 8-inch dish and sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and egg, mix with a fork. The mixture will be dry and crumbly.

  • Step 2:

    Sprinkle dry mixture evenly over strawberries and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle brown sugar over mixture.

  • Step 3:

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
